Common Global Implementation (CGI) is an initiative launched by SWIFT, the global provider of secure financial messaging services. The initiative provides a forum that promotes wider acceptance of ISO 20022 as the common XML standard used between corporate enterprises and banks.

In JD Edwards EnterpriseOne CGI payments were only supported for European countries or countries that use IBAN Bank Account Numbers. The requirement is to implement ISO 20022 CGI payments for countries that do not use IBAN bank account numbers.
