Symptoms
Currently, there is no standard method of performing a mass delete of price adjustment records (F4072), so this is requested under the enhancement BUG.
The Mass Maintenance application seems to be a good candidate for the additional functionality; it allows users to copy or update existing adjustment records, but not delete, and this would be a welcome addition.
The functionality offered in the P4072 application is also limited: the user cannot directly delete any adjustment on the W4072B form; the adjustment has to be selected first and then deleted from the W4072A form. Where a customer has many thousands of P4072 records to clear, this approach is not feasible. It is understood that this is likely intentional, due to the fact that each adjustment record can have multiple level breaks. If the P4072 is to be enhanced in place of the P45550, where a delete button is added to W4072B, there should be a clear 'chicken switch' and text to indicate that multiple records would be removed with this option, alerting the user to the impact of their action.
Note: Other available workarounds are a SQL operation over the affected records or the R45400P purge, but there is little flexibility in this UBE, it does not offer data selection at all, and only allows for a number of days to be specified for the system to 'look back' when purging adjustment records.
If the entries are present in the F4078 - Rebate Transaction Summary table, it is advised not to delete the F4072 records.
Since the advanced preference records are also stored in F4072 table, an user must ensure that the query excludes records of that category.
After deleting the entries from F4072 - Price Adjustment Detail, it is also important to delete the matching records from F4077 - Rebate Thresholds and F4073 - Free Goods Master File.
