(Doc ID 2885518.1)
Last updated on APRIL 09, 2023
Applies to:
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Canadian Payroll - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Employee QPIP (Quebec Pension Insurance Plan) tax not rounding in EnterpriseOne 9.2 to meet the maximum tax amount for certain Quebec employees. When the calculated gross amount reaches the QPIP limit of $88,000.00 for 2022 the maximum tax should be $434.72 at the rate of .004940. The calculated tax amounts for QPIP in EnterpriseOne 9.2 are only 2 digits, even if the calculated amounts have more than 2 digits, so cumulatively this results in a smaller amount for employee maximum of $434.69 for example. This QPIP tax amount does not self-adjust to the maximum tax of 434.72 for year 2022.
Steps:
1. Set QPP Calculation Flag in Company Options (P05001C) to '2' - Self-adj when max base reached.
2. Set up Canadian Employee (Quebec-700190000) for a weekly pay cycle with annual salary = $200k
3. Run weekly payrolls/Interim to meet the $88k limit or update Tax History - Pay & Taxes by Month for the Employee & Tax Type CJ.
4. Review Tax Detail and confirm the taxes do not calculate/reach the maximum QPIP tax amount of 434.72 because the system only calculates QPIP with 2 digits.
5. QPIP tax in EnterpriseOne 9.2 remains pennies short of the annual maximum tax amount in this situation.
