E1: 41: Orders Created In Prior Months for Closed Periods are not Getting Sales Updated R42800 Raising Error 4426 Date is in this Yr but Prior Mth

Symptoms
A sales order has three open lines that were Invoiced on May 26, 2022 (five months ago) on a specific invoice RI document, but were never Sales Updated.
When the client tries to run Sales Update (R42800) the following error is received in the Work Center and in the JDEDEBUG.LOG:
Error: Date is in this Yr but Prior Mth (4426)
CAUSE: The date being edited is in the current year but in the prior month.
RESOLUTION: This is an error if the General Accounting Constants you do not allow PCBO (posted before cutoff) entries.
Change the date or change the General Accounting Constants to allow PBCO entries.
The error is returned by the EditDate (X0903) business function on Line 1005 of the code.
The customer wants to process a Sales Invoice with a Sales Invoice Date and G/L Date of May 26, 2022 without error. May 2022 is a closed accounting period. They do not want to have to open the May 2022 account in order to process this Sales Invoice.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Sales Update (R42800) processing options are set as follows:
a. Defaults Tab Option #1 (Specific Date as A/R Invoice Date) = 26/05/2022
b. Defaults Tab Option #3 (Specific Date as G/L Date) = 26/05/2022
2. Run Sales Update (R42800) in Proof Mode with data selection on Sales Order 22006504 SO
a. The Sales Update Job Fails and sends an Error Message to the Work Center
b. Error: Date is in this Yr but Prior Mth (4426)
The customer wants to post the sale in time for September 2022 month-end which has not been closed yet.
