E1: 43E: Using the ‘Edit’ and ‘Review Before Generation’ Options in Requisition Expeditor (P43E060) (Doc ID 2905711.1)

Goal

The Requisition Expeditor (P43E060) allows control over a user’s ability to make changes on the Requisition before it is generated into a purchase order. Option #5 on the ‘Process’ tab enables and disables the Edit functionality (which appears as a column in the grid when enabled) and the Review Before Generation button – it can be set to be active or be grayed out.

The text on the option advises that if it is set to <blank>, then no Requisition edit will be allowed. However, with this configuration, the Review Before Generation remains active, and can be used to make some limited changes to the Requisition, including the unit and extended costs, and to add or remove lines from the order. This can be seen as a ‘backdoor’ to changing an order. The Review Before Generation action keeps the user within the P43E060 application, unlike the Edit function which launches the Requisition Entry (P43E10), but could be seen as misleading; the user can still make changes to an order after the approval process has been completed.
