Symptoms

The JAS Servers were moved from the Windows platform to Linux and the customer uses FTP for Media Objects.

After viewing a few file-type media objects by clicking on the paper clip, the media object viewer failed to render the output.

The issue only appears when using the below sequence for 4 or 5 times:

  1. Click Find.
  2. Click on the paper clip.
  3. Click on the URL to open the file in a new tab.
  4. Click Close to close the media object viewer to return to the main screen.
  5. Repeat step 1.
  6. The user clicks on the link for the file instead of holding down the CTRL key to download. When user clicks on the link, it opens a new tab.

IE11 does not have the issue. The issue appears only when using Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

Users have to logout of EnterpriseOne and log back in to work around the issue.

ActiveX is set to false.
Enhance media object is set to false.
There are 41K files in the htmlupload folder.
