Symptoms

It was determined from data that PO Entry (P4310) failed to write a decommitment record for a PO line that was canceled in August 2021. This resulted in an Open Commitment Amount of 5,210.76 for that PO line that should not be there.

The client cannot reproduce the issue, but we can verify that the issue occurred from the client’s data using the following steps.

  1. Commitment Inquiry (P40230A) shows the following activity on Account Number XXXXXX.XXXX and Purchase Order XXXXXXX OP Line Number 2.000.
    1. On 7/30/2021, PO was entered for line 2.000 creating a commitment for 5,210.76.
    2. On 8/2/2021, PO Receipt created amount relieved of 5,210.76.
    3. Open Commitment is now 0
    4. On 8/11/2021, PO Receipt reversed amount relieved -5,210.76.
    5. Open Commitment is now 5,210.76.
    6. Users say Line 2.000 was canceled but there was no decommitment record written to the PA Ledger for -5,210.76.
  2. If we check PO Entry (P4310) we can verify Purchase Order XXXXXXX OP Line Number 2.000 was canceled in August 2021 and was updated to status 980/999 and the Open PO Amount was changed to zero at that time.
    1. This should have caused a decommitment for -5,210.76 to be written to the Commitment PA Ledger in the PO Ledger table (F43199).
    2. This would have closed out the open commitment, leaving zero open commitments on that PO line.
