Symptoms

The customer uses large Item Groups and Customer Groups, often with 500+ records. When new product are introduced, there is need to add a new Item Group, and associate it with the existing Customer Group. The client can use P4072 to add these records, but this takes time due to the volume of information that has to be entered, including Units Of Measure and Currency values.  The P4072 allows an export of the grid to an Excel under form W4072B, but then the import under form W4072A can only be associated with a single Customer Group, not the multiple Customer Groups that are involved. 

Existing functionality outside of the P4072 has been checked but is determined to be unsuitable -  the Price Matrix allows existing groups to have new Cat code values associated to them, but does not allow the creation of new groups. The Price Maintenance application does not handle Groups, by design - it throws warning 45MM.

The client requests that the P4072 be enhanced to include a Copy button – where the user could edit the Item Group values, leaving the Customer Group records intact; the goal is that all existing Customer group records can be associated to the new Item Group that would be keyed in by the user. New F4072 records would be created as part of this process.
