E1: 44H: R42995 - Repost Active Sales Orders Clearing Soft Commitment with Open Warehouse Requests (Doc ID 2951337.1)

Last updated on JUNE 14, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Warehouse Management - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using warehousing and generating pick request and suggestion for a sales order, but then cancelling those and returning to the sales order to make changes and generate a new pick request, if running R42995 to repost active sales orders, the soft commit on the primary location gets cleared.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Create a new sales order and generate the warehouse requests
2. Review item availability after SO entry to see the soft commit on the primary location
3. Generate the warehouse suggestions which will generate a hard commit on the picking location.
4. The sales order is now "In warehouse" and cannot be edited, but since there is the need to edit the sales order, the warehouse suggestion and request will be cancelled.
5. Review the item availability after cancelling the warehouse request and suggestion and notice the quantity is once again soft committed on the primary location
6. Make a change on the sales order and trigger the generation of a new pick request
7. Do not create warehouse suggestions for the new request.
8. Run R42995 to repost active sales orders for the item and notice the soft commit on the primary location has been cleared even though an active sales order and open pick request exist for the item.

The soft commit should not be deleted by R42995 as an open sales order and pick request still exist for the item.
