E1: 07: Running Payroll, P07210, CO, OR, and WA Paid Family Leave Tax Types G2 & H2 Should Calculate On Work State (Doc ID 2956583.1)

Last updated on JUNE 22, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne US Payroll - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The OR, CO, and WA Paid Family Leave taxes are being calculated on the resident state but should be calculated on the work state.
This is causing tax deduction errors that are either not withholding and should be or are withholding from the wrong state.
Unable to change the 'Source of SUI' (SUI) field because that applies to all SUI/SDI taxes and not just Paid Family Leave.  Paid Family Leave Act taxes (G2/H2) should only calculate on work state and the other taxes should calculate on the resident OR work state based on employee/job/state requirements.
Steps To Reproduce:
1. Set up an employee in National and Fiscal Data - USA (P0801US) with Tax Area (Residence)=38 and Tax Area (Work)=48; Residency Status = N, Work Tax Area Source = E, and Source of SUI/SDI Reporting = R (residence).
2. From Interim Entry, P07210I, add an interim for this employee with Pay Type 1 for 80 hrs, and process it.
3. Review the payment tax calculations, notice tax Type G2 and H2 calculated for State 38
4. The taxes should be calculated on the work state.
