E1: 43: Blank Item Description 2 (DL02) in Alternate Language Displays Domestic Description in P4310 (P41016) (Doc ID 2958009.1)

When Item Master Record has Domestic Language Description 1 (DL01) and Description 2 (DL02) both populated, but the Alternate Language description for DL02 defined in P41016, contains a blank value, the purchase order description 2 field is not blank, but is populated with the domestic language description. In Sales, the description 2 would display as blank.

Steps:

1. P4101 - Locate existing or Add item Mater Record with text in both the item descriptions, DL01 and DL02.
2. In P41016, define an alternate language override for item with domestic language text in both the item descriptions, DL01 and DL02, populating the alternate language text for DL01 but leave DL02 blank.
3. In P4310, enter a purchase order for a supplier that is coded for the alternate language.
4. Add the item to the order detail. Note that the description 1 and description 2 are both populated, when the alternate language description DL02 is blank. The domestic language DL02 should not display for alternate language supplier.
5. Repeat this test using P4210 sales order entry and note that in sales, the DL02 is blank, as expected.
