Symptoms
Tax Area (aka Geocode) Search Inconsistent Results with same zip code but with +4 digits added vs without +4 digits. The search returns different Geocode results for two cities with the same zip code, Sumner and Bonney Lake.
Note - Geocodes are controlled by Vertex, therefore, JD Edwards development will contact Vertex to report this issue. JD Edwards support is not able to confirm if a code change will be required or will the fix be in a future Vertex PTQ monthly update.
Steps To Duplicate:
First search:
- Fast path to Employee Profile (P0801)
- Either inquire on existing Employee or create a new Employee
- Select Employee Go to Row Exit and select National Fiscal Data
- Use the Visual Assist for Tax Area (Work)
- Inquire on State Washington (WA) and zip code + 4 = 98391-9135
- Hit find and notice the following results (see image below)
Second Search:
- Repeat steps 1 through 4 from first search above
- Inquire on State Washington (WA) and zipcode only (no + 4 digits added) = 98391
- Hit Find and notice the following results (see image below)
