E1: 46L: Process Pick Requests (R46171) not Using Tiebreaker 2 for License Plate Items Setup for FIFO Processing (Doc ID 2958770.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 30, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Warehouse Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running the R46171 (Process Pick Requests) for a LP item with dual picking, the tiebreaker 2 setup in the picking instructions is not selecting the location that will have the least residual value. The R46171 appears to be picking inventory for the location with the lowest numeric value. The expectation is that the R46171 will be the lot/location with the oldest lot expiration date. If all other lot/locations have the same lot expiration date, the tiebreaker should be used to select the remaining request quantity. This occurs for fixed and random picking instructions.

Steps to Duplicate:

1. Create a FIFO item in a LP enabled branch with the following UOM conversion:

1 PL = 5 CA
1 CA = 25 EA

2. Setup the item for WMS processing (P46011 and P46010).
3. Setup new locations in the warehouse (locations 1.1.1, 2.2.2, 3.3.3 and 4.4.4).
4. Setup warehouse control group (P46093) and picking instructions (P46095) for fixed locations using a tiebreaker 2 and FIFO picking turned on. Also setup the fixed picking locations.
5. Added inventory for the following locations and created LPNs for full pallets and partial quantities with the following values:

1.1.1 - 500 EA (4 LPNS) Lot Exp 11/24/2023
2.2.2 - 875 EA (7 LPNS) Lot Exp 11/24/2023
3.3.3 - 175 EA (1 LP with 125 EA and 1 LP with 50 EA) Lot Exp 11/23/2023
4.4.4 - 150 EA (1 LP with 25 EA) Lot Exp 11/24/2023

6. Created a Sales Order for 225 EA
7. Created pick request for the 225.
8. Ran the R46171. The suggestion that was created was as follows:

First was for the full LPN from 3.3.3 for 125 EA or 1 PL
Second suggestion was for the remaining 50 EA on location 3.3.3
Third suggestion was for 50 EA in location 1.1.1

9. The expectation is that location 4.4.4. would have been used based on the tiebreaker because it had the least residual quantity available after the picking process.
