E1: SEC: Web Client Exception Error Misleading with Row Security (Doc ID 2963434.1)

Symptoms

Users are getting a Web Client Exception error when attempting to change the Description of a Job in Job Master Revisions, P51006.

On screen error:

 

The User Specific JAS log contains the following messages:

Steps:

  1. Fastpath to P0092 Work With User/Role Profiles: Create new User, TESTUSER
  2. Fastpath to P98LPSEC Work With User Security: Enter, select and copy the desired User ID/Role to TESTUSER
  3. Fastpath to P00950 Work With User/Role Security: Form exit > User Security and add the following security to User TESTUSER
    1. Application Security (Type 3), Application P51006, Run=Y and Install=Y
    2. Action Security (Type 1), Application P51006, Change=Y, Add=Y, Delete=Y, OK Select=Y, Copy=Y, and Scroll to End=Y
    3. Row Security (Type 4), Table F0006, Data Item CostCenterType (Alias STYL), Add=N, Change=N, Delete=N and View=Y
  4. Fastpath to P51006, Work with Job Master, click find, select any existing Job and try to change the Description (e.g. Baseball Park to Baseball Park One as shown above), click OK
  5. Receive on screen Web Client Exception Error 
     

Expect to receive an error related to row security (e.g. "Row Security - Update Not Allowed" or "Row Security Violation" or "You Are Not Authorized to").
