E1: 42: 49: Shipment Number (SHPN) Does Not Change Even If Promise Delivery Date (RSDJ) Was Recalculated Through Basic Preferences Profile (Delivery Date 09 and Order Preparation Days 16) in P42101 (Sales Order Entry Power Form) (Doc ID 2966869.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 22, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Transportation Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Shipment number does not change even if the Promise Delivery Date was recalculated when the Scheduled Pick date was updated, as per setup of the basic preferences Delivery Date (09) and Order Preparation Days(16).

Steps to replicate:

  1. Set Basic Preferences (P40070) Delivery Date (09) and Order Preparation Days(16).
  2. Activate these preferences in R40400 (Preference Options).
  3. Set P42101 (Sales Order Entry Power form) to call a P4210 (Sales Order Entry) version with basic preferences activated.
  4. Open P42101, press the Add button and enter the header information for a Transportation sales order. Go to the first line, enter the Qty and the Item number and press Tab Down button. Repeat the same steps and add the second line. Do not Save the order. Check the Scheduled Pick date, Promised Ship Date and Promised Delivery date and notice that the preferences (Delivery Date (09) and Order Preparation Days (16)) are applied.
  5. Press Submit and Close button and save the Transportation Sales order. The shipment number was created for this order.
  6. Check Scheduled Pick date, Promised Ship Date and Promised Delivery date for the lines and notice that these dates are equal with the Requested date of the order. So, the dates calculated by the preferences setup did not save. This behavior of the system is correct because the Basic preferences do not work for Transportation module.
  7. Open the order P42101 and update the Scheduled Pick date for the second line. Press Tab Down and notice that the Promise Delivery Date was recalculated for this line. Press Submit and Close button and notice that the Promise Delivery Date was saved with the new value for this line of the order.
  8. Check the Shipment number for the updated line of the order and notice that the system did not create a new shipment even if the Promised Delivery Date has changed. This is an incorrect behavior because there is a Shipment Number for more lines but with different Delivery dates. However, if changing manually the Promised Delivery Date for a line of the order and save, the system will create a new Shipment number.

When Promised Ship and Promised delivery date is not cleared, the system should retain the same Promised Ship and Promised delivery date values and does not apply basic preference.
