Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Canadian Payroll - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The Canada Pension Plan (CPP) tax is not applying the standard exemption amount causing an incorrect tax amount.
The annual exemption for an employee is $3500 divided by the number of pay periods. For example for semi-monthly pay period the calculation is 3500/24=145.83 (standard exemption amount).
Prior to calculating the CPP tax, the gross amount is reduced by the standard exemption amount for the pay period.
