Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Pre-Payroll, R07200, is not using the P079221 Unemployment Insurance Rate, for tax type HM when the employee works in a state other than the work state specified on P0801US, National/Fiscal Data US, and the Source of SUI = W (Work tax area from EE Master).

Steps:
1. P0801US, National/Fiscal Data US, set up an employee work/residence tax area = 33 (NY) and the Source of SUI = W (Work tax area from EE Master).
2. P079221, Unemployment Insurance Rate, set the rate to 0 for tax type HM (Re-Employment Service Fund).
3. P051121, Speed Time Entry, enter the employee timecard for a different work tax area, EX: 22 (MA).
4. Run Payroll, R07200, from Payroll Workbench, P07210, and review the pay stub to see that tax type HM for tax area 33 is calculated instead of using the override to 0 set up in P079221.

Note: The override rate is used if the employee does not work in another work state and tax area 33 is used.
