Symptoms
When using Edit Item/Price/Cost option in P3210 screen to add unplanned components on the configured item sales order, the system does not respect the order in which the components were added, and the first component manually entered always ends up being the last on the list of added ones.
As an example, component 1 is the first one added in P3210 and then component 4, component 2 and the last one is component 3.
The order the system displays the components from top to bottom is: 4, 2, 3, 1.
The sales order detail lines are also saved incorrectly, and the line number 1.001 is added for component 4, line number 1.002 is created for component 2, line number 1.003 for component 3 and the last one, line number 1.004 is created for the component 1.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- P4101 / P41026 - Create one configured item (Stk Ty = C, Ln Ty = W) and several purchased components (Stk Ty = P, Ln Ty = S).
- P3291 – Define the segments for configured item.
- P3293 – Define unconditional P AIR to insert few purchased components.
- P4210 – Create a configured sales order.
- P3210 – Enter the segment answer(s) and then take Edit Item/Price/Cost option. In the Add Item tab, add component # 1 and press Add Item button.
- P3210 - Similarly, add items # 4, # 2 and # 3.
- P3210, Edit Item/Price/Cost notice the items are displayed in incorrect order, from top to bottom: item # 4, # 2, # 3 and the last one is item # 1. Take Close option.
- P4210 – Save the configured SO.
- P4210 – Re-inquire on the SO and notice that the sales order detail lines have been saved in incorrect order: line number 1.001 added for component # 4, line number 1.002 added for component 2, line number 1.003 created for component 3 and line number 1.004 is added for component # 1.
