E1: 07: Pre-payroll R07200 Is Not Calculating Additional State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Tax Types HM and H1 For Timecards P051121 with Different Work States Than Employee National Fiscal Data P0801US Work State (Doc ID 2974202.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If an employee has a work and residence tax area set up that is different than the work tax area in the timecard the additional State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Tax Types HM and H1 are not calculated for the timecard work tax area.

Steps:
1. P0801US set an hourly employee with for example work and residence tax area 50 (Wisconsin). Set the source of SUI report to N (Work tax area from Time Entry),
2. P051121 enter time for the employee or add an Interim P07210I with work tax area of 24 (Minnesota).
3. Note from P07210 Pre-payroll or the Interim for Tax Detail that there is no HM tax type for Minnesota.
If the employees work and residence are 24 the tax type HM does calculate.

Note this is not specific to Minnesota. If the work area in the timecard is South Dakota the HM and H1 tax type, or if the work area in the timecard is California the HM tax type is not calculated.

The Vertex Before/After report does show the tax is calculated.
