E1: 40: 42: Work With Preference Master P40070 Does Not Allow Deletion of Records Not in Use, After a Previous Attempt (Doc ID 2988601.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 09, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Entry - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When deleting unused preference master records and the user attempts to delete a record which is invalid for deletion first that has active records, the Error 4017 Deletion Invalid is set as expected. However, when searching for and attempting to delete subsequent, valid records for deletion, the error appears when it shouldn't. The only way to successfully delete a record that is valid for deletion, after an attempt of deleting a record not valid for deletion, is to close the Preference Master application and reopen it.

Replication Steps:

1) UDC 40/PR. Add a new UDC to 40/PR.
2) P40070. Add a new preference record using the new UDC. Note this is to mimic an existing preference that no longer has any F40071, F40072, or F40073 records and is available for deletion.
3) P40070. Inquire on an existing preference that is being used and try to delete. Error 4017 Deletion Invalid is set as expected.
4) P40070. Without closing out of the app enter the newly added preference in the QBE and try to delete. Error Deletion Invalid is set when it should not be. If you close out of the app and go back in, the record can be deleted.
