Symptoms

After using a Personal Form to change the Function Code field (FUNSCD) on the CRM - Manage Leads (P90CB010) program to a Mandatory field, the program does not return a Blanks Invalid (0003) Error if the user leaves the field blank on the Add Lead (W90CB010D) Form while adding a new Lead. It does return a Blanks Invalid (0003) Error if the user attempts to change the field to blank when updating an existing Lead from the Manage Lead (W90CB010B) Form.

Steps to Reproduce:

Note: All data and screen prints are from Oracle Demo Data. No Customer or other Personal Data is Displayed.
  1. From fastpath start CRM - Manage Leads (P90CB010) and click Find.
    1. Select an Active Lead and click OK.
  2. On the Manage Lead screen, the Personal Form Drop-Down List has “No Personalization”.
    1. The Function Code (FUNSCD) field does not have an asterisk and therefore is not a “Required” field.
    2. Click on the Personal Form icon.
  3. When the Personal Forms Manager screen opens, navigate to the Function Code (FUNSCD) field.
    1. Right-Click on the field and check the ”Mark as required” checkbox.
  4. Click the Personal Form button.
    1. The Form Layout is displayed.
    2. Navigate to the Function Code (FUNSCD) field.
    3. Right-Click and check the “Mark as Required Checkbox”.
    4. Then click the Save button.
    5. When the Enter New Name: pop-up appears, type in the Personal Form name and click OK.
  5. Close the Personal Forms Manager.
  6. When the Manage Lead screen returns, the Personal Form Drop-Down List has the name of the personal form populated.
    1. The Function Code (FUNSCD) field now has an asterisk and therefore is now a “Required” field.
    2. There is a value of “DIR” populated in the Function Code (FUNSCD) field.
  7. Blank out Function Code (FUNSCD) field and tab out of the field.
    1. The program returns a “Blanks Invalid” (0003) error because a non-blank value is required in the field.
  8. Return to the “Search For Leads” (P90CB010) screen and click the + (Add Button).
  9. When the Add Lead (W90CB010D) Form is displayed, the Function Code (FUNSCD) field has an asterisk (*) next to it to indicate it is a required field.
  10. Populate all the required fields except the Function Code (FUNSCD) field, which is left blank, and click the “Save and Close” button. The Blanks Invalid (0003) error DOES NOT appear and the Lead is saved.
  11. When “Search For Leads” (P90CB010) screen returns, find the lead just created and notice the Function Code was left blank. Select the record to make changes.
  12. While in the Manage Lead (W90CB010B) Form, Populate Address Fields on the lead and click the “Save Changes” Button.
    1. The Blanks Invalid (0003) Error is still NOT displayed.

On Personal Form Mark Function Code as a Required Field

On Manage Lead (W90CB010B) Form on a previously saved record, Function Code Field is populated.

Attempt to Change Function Code From Populated to Blank and "Blanks Invalid" Error is Displayed.

On Add Lead (W90CB010D) Form Leave the Function Code Field Blank and Click "Save and Close" Button. Blanks Invalid Error (0003) is NOT Displayed.

When “Search For Leads” (P90CB010) screen returns, find the lead just created and notice the Function Code was left blank.
