E1: 34: Shipped Orders Do not Consume Forecast if the Consumption Period Ends on a Non-Work Day When Using Master Planning Schedule - Multiple Plant - R3483 With Forecast Consumption Logic Activated (Doc ID 2998482.1)

Last updated on MARCH 29, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When the Forcast Consumption Period ends on a Non-Work Day if the SO is in the new period but was shipped early (ex Ship in May, for April SO) even though the Scheduled Pick date in F3462 is still in the new period the Period Shipped Qty does not reflect the shipment and the full Forecast will be used as the Demand for that period. This results in a display of false excess demand in the new period.

  1. Select a Forecast Consumption item (Planning Fence Rule = H)
  2. In 2024 with a standard Calendar April is a good month to test on as May ends on a Weekend.
  3. Enter a Forecast for 4/4/24.
  4. Enter a Sales order for a Line Type W item with the same Qty as Forecast also on 4/4/24. This will create a WO with a Request Date of 4/4/24.
  5. Enter the WO Completion for any date before 4/1 to create shippable inventory.
  6. Run MRP (R3483) to confirm no Order Messages are given (Inventory = Demand)
  7. Take the SO through the standard steps (Print Picklist, Ship Confirm, End of Day processing) Do Not Change the Scheduled Pick Date.
  8. Confirm the F3462 has the original Scheduled Pick Date (4/4/24)
  9. View P4021 and note that no Period Shipped Qty is shown for 4/1 (the April Period) and the Original Forecast shows as Demand. It should have been consumed by the shipment.
  10. Run MRP again and confirm that MRP correctly consumes the Forecast and does not give any new Order Message. This issue is only in P4021.
