Symptoms

Voucher Match (P4314) validates DMAAI 4330 for purchase orders related to ETO project even though the Voucher Match Variance account option in Line Type Constants (P40205) is unchecked.  If valid account number is not defined to DMAAI 4330, the system issues following error;

Account Number XX.XXXX is Invalid (043C).
CAUSE . . . . XX.XXXX does not exist in the Account Master file (F0901). NOTE: If you get this error message on a discount amount, it is indicating that the account numbers set up in the Automatic Accounting Instructions are invalid.
RESOLUTION. . Enter the correct account number.

When the Voucher Match Variance account option is unchecked in P40205, the variances are written to the Expense Account on the line, so DMAAI 4330 should not be validated.

Steps:

  1. In Line Type Constants (P40205), the "Voucher Match Variance Account" flag is unchecked.
  2. Create a ETO related purchase order from the Project Workbench (P31P001). Enter an expense account number to detail lines.
  3. Receive the Purchase Order (P4312).
  4. Create a 3-Way Match Voucher (P0411/P4314). Amount to Voucher comes in the grid from the PO Receipt.
  5. Change the Amount to Voucher from so it is different from the Receipt and save the transaction.
  6. The system returns the error Account Number XXX.XXXX is Invalid (043C) if valid account number is not defined to DMAAI 4330.
