Interim Payroll (P07210I) and Pre-Payroll (P07210) Doubles Taxable Gross on California (05) State Income Tax (F) if Employee Works in California (05) and Colorado (06) in the same Pay Period.

This is similar to Bug 35334512 - EMPLOYEE IN MULTIPLE STATES HAS INCORRECT TAXABLE GROSS FOR STATE INCOME TAX, but the client has applied the fix for this bug to their system.

Steps to Duplicate:

  1. Select a California based employee with Tax Area (Residence) and Tax Area (Work) both are set to 05 (California) and Residency Status is Blank.
  2. Enter an Interim Payroll (P07210I) for this employee.
    1. On first line enter 40 Regular Pay Hours for Work State 05 (California)
    2. On second line enter 40 regular Pay Hours for Work State 06 (Colorado)
    3. Click the Purple Calculator Button to calculate Payroll Amounts.
  3. Notice on Pay Stub Detail, both California (05) and Colorado (06) State Income Tax is withheld.
    1. Take the Form Exit to Tax Detail
  4. On Tax Detail screen enter Tax Type F (State Income Tax) and click Find.
    1. California (05) Taxable Gross Pay is Double that of Colorado (06) even though the hourly rate and hours worked are the same in both states.
  5. If you clear the Tax Type and press the “Employee Paid Only” radio button also that California (05) Gross Pay for State Income Tax (F) is double California Gross Pay for Federal Unemployment Tax.
