Last updated on JANUARY 23, 2024

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Where a Mandatory sales adjustment is defined, an order is raised in P42101 for an item that does not have a valid adjustment. The expected errors are thrown, and uniquely under this scenario, the item can be changed. The new item has a different GL Class value to the original item, but the new value is not written to the line. The order can be saved with the incorrect GL Class, leading to incorrect journal entries being created.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1.  Add a mandatory sales adjustment definition (P4071), but do not add adjustment details. Add the adjustment to a schedule and associate the schedule to a customer.
  2.  Raise an order for the item and drop off the line; the Mandatory price errors are thrown as expected.
  3.  This scenario allows the user to change the item on the line (not normally allowed) so a replacement item is chosen - the new item has a different GL Class to the first item.
  4.  The GL Class is not updated in the grid, so the original item's GL Class is retained, The order can be saved without error, leading to incorrect journal entries being created.
