E1: 77: Canada Phase 2 For Quebec Q1 and Q2 Incorrectly Use Tax Area FEDERAL and Creates Tax History For Company Federal Tax ID Instead of Quebec Provincial Tax ID (Doc ID 3002235.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 09, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Canadian Payroll - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Tax Area for QC items is 700190000 (provincial tax area for QC) but Tax Types Q1/Q2 are using FEDERAL. This creates incorrect details in the tax history, allocating QPP Extra Contribution for employees and employers to the Company's Federal Tax IDs instead of Provincial Tax ID.

Steps:
1. P07210I Interim, create a lump sum for a Quebec employee for 68500.00, save.
2. P07210 Payroll Workbench, run the employee through an Interim Only payroll.
Note in the Payment Review, Tax Detail that the Q1 and Q2 Work Tax Area is Federal instead of 700190000.
Complete the payroll through Final Update.
3. P779901 Pay and Taxes by Month, review for employees that Q1 and Q2 are not following Company Tax ID for Quebec.
