E1: 49: Carrier is Not Being Selected for Shipment Based on Mode of Transport (MOT) and Routing Restrictions (P4952) Based on Weight Range in the Routing Options (P4980) (Doc ID 3028844.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When creating a transportation sales order using the P4210 (Sales Order Entry), the outbound shipment being created is not routing to the expected route. The routing hierarchy is setup to select the route from the ship to address, but the shipment is being routed to a route setup by country (US) that is going to a different carrier. The goal is to have two routes setup with different Mode of Transport (MOT) with different carriers that will be routed based on the weight of the shipment. For smaller shipments (less than 150 LBS), the shipment should route to MOT of SP and carrier ABC, but for shipments over 150 LBS, the shipment should route to MOT of LTL and carrier DEF.

STEPS

1. Setup two routes in the P4950. One route is setup with a MOT of SP for carrier ABC and the other route is setup with MOT of LTL and carrier DEF. Both of these routes have a specific ship to address. Other routes will exist that the shipment can be routed to and no shipment charges are calculated on any route (ex: county).
2. Create a Sales Order (P4210) that will create a shipment.
3. Go into Work with Shipments (P4915) and select Routing Options (P4980). The shipment is routed to a route setup with the country code and not the routes setup for the specific ship to address.
