Symptoms

In application P90CA08T, Contact and Partner tab (SubForm S90CA077A) the contact's Phone Number in the grid is not displayed as expected when the Phone Number Type field is set to blank, and a Business phone number does not exist.

For example, in application P90CA074 Contact Processing, Defaults tab, the Contact Phone Number Type is defined as blank (blank = Business in UDC table 01|PH, Address Book Phone Type). In P90CA08T, non-Business Type phone numbers are displayed (e.g. CELL, FAX) which is misleading to Users and requires verification of the Phone Type in Phones And Fax, P90CA081.

Steps:

  1. Fast path to IV, Interactive Versions
  2. Enter Interactive Application P90CA074, click Find
  3. Select Version ZJDE0001, row exit and select Processing Options
  4. In the Defaults tab, verify Contact Phone Number Type is set to blank (i.e. Business)

  5. Click the Visual Asset to verify the values in User Defined Code table 01|PH, the blank Code is defined as Business

  6. Exit out
  7. Fast Path to P90CA080 - Search for Customers
  8. Click Add to add a Customer
  9. In P90CA082, add a new Customer (e.g. May Doe)

  10. Click Save and Continue
  11. In P90CA080, note the new Customer created and the Customer Number (e.g. May Doe, Customer Number 29116)
  12. Click on Address and Phone
  13. In P90CA081, scroll down to Phones and Fax and enter a phone number for May Doe
  14. Select Phone Type CAR and enter a phone number (e.g. 303-555-8888)

  15. Scroll down and click Save Changes
  16. Click Close
  17. Fastpath to P90CA080
  18. Enter the Name created in step 9 (e.g. May Doe) and click Find
  19. Select the Customer (e.g. May Doe)
  20. Click on Contact and Partner > P90CA08T and add a Contact
  21. Select Phone Number Type CELL from the drop down, add the Contact (e.g. Jane Doe) with a CELL number (e.g. 303-888-3333)

  22. Click Save Changes and exit
  23. Fastpath to P90CA080
  24. Enter Name May Doe and click Find
  25. Select May Doe
  26. Click on Contact and Partner tab
  27. Note the Phone Number Type field is blank (Business) as per the Defaults Contact Phone Number Type in P90CA074, however Contact Jane Doe is displayed with the CELL Phone Number (e.g. 303-888-3333)

This is misleading to Users and requires they verify the Phone Type in Phones and Fax, P90CA081.
