E1: PKG: Update Package on Development Client Not Clearing the User Specs (F98999*) For Updated Objects (Doc ID 3040019.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 12, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In a development client when working on local web, changes done to any JDE interactive application wont be visible even after an update package was build and deploy.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Run an application on local web from development client.  Note there should be no user specification (F98*US) as user never did any modifications on the object. Serialized specifications (F98999*) will get properly generated from current package specifications (F98*PKGNAME)
  2. Modify the interactive application then build and deploy an update package to both server and development client.
  3. Run the application again on local web from development client and notice the changes done are not reflected.  Observe that serialized specifications (F98999*) are not updated, therefore code that is running is the one before application modification/change, proving that update package did not cleared the user specs.
