Last updated on NOVEMBER 19, 2024

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When you copy a sales order with kit parent and components with assigned shipment numbers and the shipment has been approved and or also confirmed, the newly copied kit parent has a new shipment number, but the components have the same shipment number as the original order.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Enter a Sales Order (type S4) for a kit item.
2. Re-inquire on the sales order and take the Work with Shipments row exit.
3. Approve the shipment (row exit).
4. Confirm the Shipment (row exit).  (The issue happens at Approve and also if testing Confirm.)
5. Return to P4210 and copy original SO.
6. Note that the parent line has a new shipment number and the component lines have the shipment number from the original sales order.
