Symptoms
The customer is looking to configure a new option/functionality via item setup (P41026) such that the requested date on a purchase order created by running MRP (R3482/R3483) is suggested specific number of days earlier than the actual requested date calculated by MRP (R3482/R3483). The Customer is looking for a way based on the demand to purchase and stock items earlier than the demand requested date based on the items.
For example, if the start date of the dependent demand for a parent item item is on 9/20/2024, then customer would want to define "item A" to come in 2 days earlier, so the purchase order generated would have the delivery/requested date to come in on 9/18/2024. Conversely, if we have an another item which has a dependent demand with start date on 9/20/2024, but item be is set to come in 6 days earlier, then the requested date on the purchase order would be 9/14/2024.
