Symptoms
When P4205 (Ship Confirm ) application is set to write In-Transit journal entries (type TI), and multi-location (P42053) selection is used to change the inventory commitment location and quantity shipped, P4205/P42053 creates additional journal entry records with incorrect values resulting in imbalance in the Cardex (P4111) and General Ledger (P0911) transactions.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- A lot controlled item is used in a sales order line for 10 EA. P4205 is configured to use the In-Transit JEs, found on options 12 and 13 of the Process tab.
- Ship Confirm P4205 is launched and the user opts to do a Multiple Location confirm. By default, the P42053 Multi Location form populates the 10 EA against the first lot it finds.
- A second lot/location is also available, and the client selects this, manually changing the qty to 1 EA in the 'Quantity' field. Ship confirm is completed.
- An In-transit document (type TI) is created; this shows records with 10 / -10 as the quantity in the UNITS field. This entry is unexpected as only 1 EA was confirmed (validated by the Cardex record for the TI doc). Records do also exist for the 1 EA actually confirmed.
