Purpose
The Supplemental Data functionality is used to store information that is not included in the standard master tables. For example, supplemental data can be used to track information such as:
- Quality performance information
- Legal descriptions
- Repair and replacement records
- Information about government purchases
- Customer complaints
- Hazardous material regulations
- General remarks
This information is to assist with creating a place for extra information on purchase and sales orders using the Supplemental Data (F00092) file. The examples that will be used are the code and narrative format. Note: There are some suggestions in this paper that require changes being made to forms and custom reports which are not supported by Global Support Services. If assistance is needed with these processes, please contact your Engagement Manager.
The Supplemental Database was created to capture extra information for the Inventory Module. However, this program can be used with a variety of different modules. This paper will give an example of how to use Supplemental Data with the Procurement and Sales modules in E1 Distribution.
