E1: 45: Free Goods Catalog in Sales (P4502 / P4073 / P4210) (Doc ID 625702.1)

Last updated on MARCH 29, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Advanced Pricing - Sales - Version XE and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

The Free Goods Catalog was designed to offer a choice of free goods awarded to a sales order. The functionality is available beginning with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.9.

Traditional free goods functionality allows only one default free good to be added when ordering a qualifying quantity of the 'initial' item. For example, the customer orders a quantity of item X and receives item Y free, or orders item X and receives more of item X free. The Free Goods Catalog enhances free goods functionality by allowing the user to choose which free good is awarded to a sales order. For example, when ordering 100 cases or more of salad dressing, the customer can choose one case of salad dressing from a range of flavors available.
When setting up Free Goods Catalog functionality, the user is still required to define a default free good. In cases where there is no user interaction (interoperability, EDI or Batch Recurring Orders) the default is used.
