Purpose

Barcode printing from within JDE system comprises two parts. First part is designing the report in RDA for Barcode generation. For details review E1: RDA: How to Design Reports for Printing Bar Codes (Doc ID 626531.1).

Next part is Printing the report output that contains barcode.

The purpose of this document is to list down printer considerations for both PCL and POSTSCRIPT printers for printing Barcodes within JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

Scope

This document is intended for the Printer Administrators and Report Developers who will be formatting reports to printers and the System Administrator who will be maintaining and troubleshooting printers.

Note: Information in this document does not apply to printing BI Publisher reports generated from Embedded BI Publisher engine for EnterpriseOne. Printing BI Publisher reports requires POSTSCRIPT printers. PCL Printers are not supported with BI Publisher reports due to its rich format content included which might not be compatible with PCL printers.
