Purpose

This document provides the steps to create a new index on an EnterpriseOne table in Object Management Workbench (OMW) as well as troubleshooting steps when encountering an issue with an index.

NOTE: Creating a custom index can have an adverse effect on performance.  It is the responsibility of the customer to test and validate any newly created indices and determine if the index should be deployed within the EnterpriseOne environment. If any issues are encountered in standard applications using tables with modified or custom indices,  you should test the application using unmodified /pristine table (without any custom or modified index ) before contacting Oracle Support.

Scope

This document is intended for the EnterpriseOne developer or system administrator who is reviewing or creating indices on an EnterpriseOne table.
