Goal
Unicode Data Conversion Guide
Attached is the Unicode Data Conversion Guide. It applies to all JD Edwards EnterpriseOne application release levels 8.9 and above (8.10, 8.11, 8.11 SP1, 8.12, 9.0, 9.1, 9.2) when doing the Unicode conversion.
The conversion script should be run from a workstation, not from the Deployment Server.
This document details the necessary steps to successfully migrate an Enterprise Xe - ERP 8.0, non-Unicode database to an EnterpriseOne Application Release 8.9, 8.10, 8.11, 8.11SP1, 8.12, 9.0, 9.1 or 9.2 Unicode format.
The document explains the necessary pre-requisites, the caveats, and pre-test and pos-test to ensure that the conversion is successful. The Unicode Data Conversion is EnterpriseOne path code dependent and it is one-way only. There is no process to convert the data back to non-Unicode format.
The conversion executable must be executed across the various path codes independently to ensure that all data is converted and the EnterpriseOne data sources are flagged as Unicode.
