Purpose
Overview
The Single Asset Disposal (G1222/P12105) and the Mass Asset Disposal (G1222/R12104) programs can be used to record asset disposals in the General Ledger and Fixed Assets. The system will update the Asset Master record (F1201) with the disposal date and the method of disposal (i.e. sold, scrapped, charity etc…). It will also create journal entries to record the disposal in both the General Ledger (F0902) and Fixed Asset Balance table (F1202). The disposal journal entries must be posted first to the General Ledger using the General Ledger Post (G1222/R09801) and then to Fixed Assets using either the Post GL to Fixed Assets (G1222/R12800) or the Revise Unposted Entries (G1212/P12102). The disposal programs will automatically create disposal journal entries for the AA ledger. If tax ledgers need to be disposed as well, they can be specified on the Process tab in the processing options on both the P12105 and the R12104. If the cash proceeds need to be recorded to the alternate ledgers, besides the AA ledger, make sure that the processing options on the Post G/L Entries to Assets (R12800) and Revise Unposted Entries (P12102) have the Ledger Types populated. These are located on the Ledger Types Tab of each of the programs (R12800/P12102).
