Information in this document applies to any platform.

Details

World A9.2 enhancements to the Inventory system include:

Z File Processing
User Defined Data
Item Availability Summary Report
Improvements to Summary Availability
PC Export for Price Book

Each enhancement is briefly described below.

Z File Processing

Prior to the A9.2 release, adding item master and item branch information was a manual, interactive process. As of the A9.2 release, Z files exist to accommodate the addition of new item information, as well as changes to existing item information. RPG wrapper programs have been created to launch each of the existing item revisions programs in batch mode. This includes revisions programs such as Item Master Revisions (P4101), Item Branch Revisions (P41026), Item Cost Revisions (P4105), Item Price Revisions (P4105), and so on. For more information, see JD Edwards World A9.2 Z Files.

User Defined Data

The User Defined Data enhancement consists of numerous new files and programs that allow you to store and maintain supplemental data pertinent to inventory items, customers, suppliers, sales orders, and purchase orders. The data you store for inventory items can be used to default to the user-defined data you set up for sales and purchase order transactions. For more information, see User Defined Data for Distribution.

Item Availability Summary Report

Item Availability Summary (P41702) is a new program that generates a report mirroring the information that displays in the on-line Summary Availability program (P41202). The new program also includes export functionality, by allowing you to create a work file (F41072W), which you can then choose to export via the World Writer file export process.

The output data for the report and work file is determined by data selection in the DREAM Writer version you set up. There are numerous processing options that allow you to manipulate the output based on unit of measure, potency ranges, and so forth. You can also suppress the output of lot information if lot control is not pertinent in your environment.

Improvements to Summary Availability

The Based on Date field (BODJ), which is applicable to lot controlled items, was a new field added to the A9.1 release as part of the Lot Date enhancement functionality. As of the A9.2 release, this field is now viewable in the fold area of the Summary Availability video (P41202).

PC Export for Price Book

The Price Book report program (P41510) has been enhanced in the A9.2 release to include PC batch export capability.
