Purpose
Manufacturing DMAAIs Overview
Manufacturing Accounting Instructions, (DMAAIs) must be defined for every manufacturing transaction that generates a journal entry. DMAAIs are tables that link the manufacturing accounting to the Chart of Accounts. The fast path command is DMAAI which stands forDistribution and Manufacturing Automatic Accounting Instructions. DMAAIs are also available by navigating to the Shop Floor Control Setup menu (G3141) under the OTHER SYSTEM SETUP section, select Automatic Acctg Instructions. The Automatic Accounting Instruction (AAI) Values File (F4095) contains account numbers that are entered in the DMAAI tables and are used to create journal entries and charge amounts to those accounts. JD Edwards World defines manufacturing DMAAIs at the 3000 level, for example :
3110 Raw Material and Sub-Assemblies, used by Work Order WIP & Completion Accounting programs like P31802 and Orderless Manufacturing Accounting P31862.
3120 Work In Process, used in WO WIP & Completion Accounting, Orderless Manufacturing Accounting, Actual Costing and Standard Cost WO Variances Accounting P31804.
There are DMAAIs defined in the distribution system, level 41, that are also used by the Manufacturing Costing programs (P30835-Frozen Cost Update & P30837 -WIP Revaluation) such as: 4134 - Inventory and 4136-Expense or Cost of Goods Sold.
In this document, you will find a detailed description of the relationship between manufacturing programs and DMAAIs.
