To provide A9.4 manufacturing enhancements feature detail.
The A9.4 release includes the Work Center Costing and Accounting enhancement in Manufacturing Costing and Accounting included in the Product Data Management (WS30) and Shop Floor Management (WS31) modules.
Systems 30 and 31: Product Data Management (Costing) and Shop Floor Control (Accounting)
Work Center Costing and AccountingDescription & Benefits
This enhancement allows management to understand the profitability of products and to have access to manufacturing variances in more detail. The level of detail supplied by this functionality will allow for accountability and cause-effective analysis. Work Center Costing allows you to process Costs by Work Center from freezing costs through variance journal entries. Variance by work center would be optional, controlled by a flag in the Manufacturing Constants. This enhancement applies only for Discrete Manufacturing and Process Manufacturing functionalities.
You can manually enter extra costs in the cost component detail at the work center level. These costs are then automatically accumulated and updated in the Cost Component in the Cost Component Detail file (F300261). Since Actual costing by definition has no variance, and previous releases of standard costing are not affected by this enhancement. Cost Variance by Work Center is Flex enabled.
Before & Now
In releases prior to A9.4, the system reports and generates work order cost variances at the Work Order level, broken down by cost types stored in the item's cost component. As of A9.4, Work Center Costing generates costs in work center levels where cost is broken down by component cost types. The Work Order Variances program (P31804) will create Journal Entries for variances by operation sequences on the Work Order. Variance by work center compares the consumption at the work center, or the material issued and hours reported, to the standard material and hours established at the work center level.
System 34: Requirements Planning
Forecast Consumption by CustomerDescription & Benefits
Forecast Consumption by Customer enhances your ability as a supplier to meet the requirements from large customers. When dealing with large customers, you might want to consider the demand for each customer separately and plan production quantities accordingly. You can set up the system to net forecasts and sales orders for a particular customer separately, so that you can plan more accurately for the specific demand coming from individual customers. When you create a production or distribution plan, the program consumes a customer-specific forecast and customer demand. You can apply forecast consumption logic for every customer to calculate actual daily demand.
Order Messages with Past Dates
Description & Benefits
Bug 10979184 : OPTION TO USE CURRENT DATE - SAR: 8705662. The Message File Revisions (P3411) 3/G3411 program was modified so that an order message with past dates can be processed with no error/warning by changing the dates to the system date automatically.
Description & Benefits
Bug 16802374: MRP USABILITY ENHANCEMENTS for Time Series (P3413) 7/G3413 Message File Revisions / (P4311) 7/G3413 Message File Revisions (P4311) 3/G3413 added a function key to select all action messages in the display for processing. Users will now be able to filter by start date by pressing the function key rather than having to manually enter values in the option fields for every message.
A new processing option to automatically enter an item's order UOM (purchasing or production according to stocking type) rather than the primary on the screen has also been added. The UOM field is now refreshed when locating a new item number.
Suppress Blank Quantity Line Types in Time Series
Description & Benefits
Bug 11054900 : P3413 DEFAULT COMPRESSED VIEW - SAR 8975179. Time Series (P3413) 7/G3413 is modified so that blank quantity type lines do not display. Prior to the change, all time series lines displayed by default and the user had to use Suppress Blank Line Toggle function key 15 to hide the blank lines. The F15 function is still available to view all quantity types if, but the compressed view is what users normally want to see.
