Symptoms

After pre-payroll, P06210, the Paycheck Workfile, F063501, is displaying current pay plus the amount in history for 31/H - SUI (state unemployment insurance) excess gross field.  The amount in the Paycheck Workfile should be the current pay information only.

Steps:

  1. Ensure there is no override in the Unemployment Insurance Rates table, P069221, for 2023, for work state 31 and tax type H (SUI).
  2. Process pre-payroll, P06210, for an employee with work state 31 to generate enough pay for 2023 history to exceed the earning limit of 13,000.00 for 31/H.
  3. Now add a record to the Unemployment Insurance Rates table, P069221, for 2023, 31/H with an earning limit of 13000.00 and a rate of .0080000.
  4. Process pre-payroll, P06210,for the same employee.
  5. Review F063501, Paycheck Workfile, and note the Excess Gross field (Y4WX01) includes history plus current pay information, where it should only display current pay information.
