Goal

Sun Java[TM] System Directory Server v5.x (formerly known as iPlanet[TM] Directory Server 5.x) is often used in a replicated environment. When
replication problems occur, they are only usually detected once errors are noticed in the server error logs.

This article explains the concept and use of the special attribute "nsds50ruv", which was introduced with Sun Java System Directory Server
v5.x. This attribute is helpful in determining the state of replication between servers.
