Goal

How to set, or increase, the maximum allowed file descriptors (FDs) for only the Web Server process, without affecting other processes in the system.

You will need to increase the FDs for the Web Server process if you see the following error in the Web Server's errors log:

failure (12345): HTTP3069: Error accepting connection (PR_PROC_DESC_TABLE_FULL_ERROR: file descriptor table full)
