Last updated on JULY 08, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 11.1.1.0.0 to 11.1.2.0.0 [Release Oracle11g]Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
This only relevant to when there are memory errors during startup of java processes on the Windows operating system, even though there is plenty of free physical RAM available.
Goal
On Windows (32 bit), the exhausted Desktop Heap can cause the "Could not reserve enough space for
object heap" when starting a java process, even when there is plenty of physical memory available on the machine. The instructions here are to explain how to confirm if there is insufficient Desktop Heap and how to adjust it.
