(Doc ID 1052278.1)

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

This document addresses how to setup 2-node LDAP-based multi-master replication in OID 11.1 using the Replication Wizard from within the Enterprise Manager (EM) Fusion Middleware Control.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If setting up more than 2 nodes, or even if adding a third node to the DRG later, configure all from command line as per the following note to avoid problems:
<Document 1372095.1> - How to Setup LDAP Replication at Command Line in OID 11g

Requirements before performing the steps below:

NOTE: If a node needs to be restored, first obtain a cold database backup of the OID metadata repository. Then issue this bulkload command on the output file from the ldifwrite:

bulkload connect=<OID_db> check=true generate=true restore=true file=<output_filename>

This will store the resulting .ctl and .dat files in the OID <INSTANCE_HOME>/OID/load directory
Then issue this command to load the data into OID:

bulkload connect=<OID_db> load=true

The Replication Wizard uses the terms Primary Node and Secondary Node. Generally, the Primary Node is the SUPPLIER and the Secondary Node is the CONSUMER.
