MFL Transformation Issue for Zero Occurances of a Repeat Field (Doc ID 1060871.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 24, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Service Bus - Version 10.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using MFL transformation in which a group occurrence is specified by a repeat field and at runtime if the repeat field value is 0, MFL parses source data incorrectly.

If  there is a MFL resource which has a FILE_HEADER group which has one occurence, and a HEADER group which has unlimited occurences and DETAILS group repeats as many number of times as the value of one of the field in HEADER group (DETAIL_REC_CNT).

The transformation works fine when, at runtime, value of DETAIL_REC_CNT is not 0. When it is 0, the MFL parses the data incorrectly. It parses all subsequent HEADER data as DETAILS.
