Accessing Wallet in EM Fails with OID or OVD is Down, Even Though OID / OVD Status is Up (Configuration settings are unavailable because /Farm_IdmDomain/asinst_1/oid1 is down.) (Doc ID 1064076.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1 and later
Oracle Virtual Directory - Version 11.1.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

As part of setting up SSL for Oracle Internet Directory (OID) or Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g, the navigation path below is followed in Enterprise Management (EM) Fusion Middleware Control

- Identity and Access > oid1
- right click on oid1->Security->Wallets

This results in  a message similar to:

"Configuration settings are unavailable because /Farm_IdmDomain/asinst_1/oid1 is down.'

The OID instance (oid1) is confirmed to be up and running, and shows as 100% green in the home page for that farm. Also both non-SSL and SSL ports have been setup and can be verified from command line via ldapsearch or other commands.

NB. The same  message "Configuration settings are unavailable because /Farm_IdmDomain/asinst_1/oid1 is down.' is received for the navigation path to "security->Audit Policy Setting"
