How to Give the Default Operators Group Privileges from the Default Administrators Group (Doc ID 1075489.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 11, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Weblogic Server - Version: 9.2 and later   [Release: and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

WebLogic Server provides several global security roles by default: see here for more details.

These roles include the Admin role, which has these privileges:

  • View the server configuration, including the encrypted value of some encrypted attributes.
  • Modify the entire server configuration.
  • Deploy Enterprise Applications and Web application, EJB, Java EE Connector, and Web Service modules.
  • Start, resume, and stop servers.

Another default role is the Operator role, which has these privileges:

  • View the server configuration, except for encrypted attributes.
  • Start, resume, and stop servers.

Is it possible to provide additional privileges to the Operators group so that they could carry out some of the Administrators' functions?
