Symptoms

When running OID tool remtool -asrcleanup to clean up/remove the ASR replication configuration between two nodes, the tool is hanging. The remtool.log shows that the last operation executed is deferred transactions cleanup:

DECLARE
numt number := 0;
nume number := 0;
numl number := 0;
BEGIN
LOOP
select count(*) into numt from deftran;
select count(*) into nume from deferror;
select count(*) into numl from dba_repcatlog;

IF numt<>0 OR nume<>0 OR numl<>0 THEN
dbms_defer_sys.delete_tran(null,null);
dbms_defer_sys.delete_error(null,null);
dbms_repcat.purge_master_log(null,null,null);
END IF;

EXIT WHEN numt=0 AND nume=0 AND numl=0;
END LOOP;
END;

The customer has monitored the entries in the following objects:

deftran count, dba_repcatlog, deferror.

The count never changes - it appears that cleanup is hanging.

Goal
-------
Complete cleanup operation to remove ASR replication configuration.
The operation is stuck at step 1. because remtool -asrcleanup is hanging.
